McQueen is dead.. Long live McQueen.

The fashion world is mourning over the death of Alexander McQueen, British designer nicknamed the "hooligan of English fashion." McQueen was found dead at 10.20 AM at his flat in a fashionable part of West London. His death came just days before London Fashion Week, which is due to open on February 19. Although the cause of his death is unknown for the moment, the police says there weren't any "suspicious circumstances."

McQueen was born in the East End of London on March 17, 1969. His father was a taxi driver and as a child he made dresses for his three sisters. As a teenager he apprenticed on Savile Row (where he made suits for Prince Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev) before attending Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. It was his graduation collection that caught the eye of influential stylist Isabella Blow. The two became fast and dear friends until Blow committed suicide on May 7, 2007. McQueen dedicated his spring 2008 collection to her.

McQueen was named England's designer of the year four times between 1996 and 2003.

Millions of designer are influenced by his daring style and fantastic creations.

He was known for his extravagant collections and ability to push beyond boundaries and create pieces of art. A true visionary and a real artist.

McQueen's secondary line, McQ, was to be presented today as part of NY Fashion Week.

The presentation has been canceled.

YES!

NYC Fashion Week starts tomorrow and the city is full of fashion enthusiasts

eager for the Fall/Winter 2010 collections to hit the runways!

It is a shame though that a massive snow storm hit New York this morning

and will continue until tomorrow morning, dropping about 15 inches of snow

on this beautiful metropolitan area!! BRRRRR!!!

But beware, such amount of snow won't stop fashion fiends from attending the runways,

hitting the stores for events and popping some champagne at the after parties....

and it definitely wont stop the NATAS crew from doing our thang!

So stay tuned for some bad ass coverage and celebration!!!

Studio 54

OK, Studio 54 is a subject done many time since Stylists are in business!

This one will be on the next "Vogue Homme International" Spring '10 (coming for March)

I just want to share the funniest, less expensive, friendly shooting I ever had!

We spend less than $5000 to make it in Maxim's Paris. Pierre Cardin is still into fashion even at 87! He let us destroyed his restaurant for a day! Models were free too 'cause new faces!

Part of the alcohol, the photograph and our taxi, we can say it was a cheap shoot!

Cheap don't look nice in Vogue... So we had to make look like the real spirit of Studio 54, drugs, alcohol, youth, invisible,...

That's the first choice before Final selection...

Next post will be the shoot I had today with my personal Hero of my youth Zinedine Zidane.
