Digital Harinezumi

I'm all into gadgets (yes, I'm a geek), and this little gem is one of the most interesting gadgets I've ever gotten. From Superheadz, a Japanese company that develops analog cameras mostly out of plastic, I give you Digital Harinezumi.

Digital Harinezumi (Hedgehog in Japanese) is the first digital release by Superheadz. A faux retro film camera that records and shoots pictures, it's small enough that it fits in a baby's hand, and it's completely made out of plastic.

Picture-wise, the results are amazing; the camera produces ultra-saturated colors, mildly blurred, overexposed vignette-looking images (no need for post-production). Video-wise, it gives shots a look that can only be described as one of those old tapes your grandmother shot back in the 60's. Here's a sample so you can have a clear idea of what I'm talking about.

Bottom-line, if you like experimenting, then the Digital Harinezumi is a must-get-it-now product. From a film noir shot to a serial killer skit, or from a vintage festival in the park to a retro-futuristic knight rider scene....the possibilities are endless.
